SRBA Seeking Freelance Graphic Designer

Want to work with a hyper local brand, supporting a premier precinct in Melbourne’s inner north? The Sydney Road Brunswick Association (SRBA), who represents Sydney Road Brunswick, is looking for a freelance graphic designer.

The Sydney Road Brunswick Association was established in 1992 to represent the businesses and precinct and ensure its continued economic sustainability.

To do this, the Association delivers a year-round program of events, activations, and initiatives – all designed to support the various businesses that come under their umbrella, as well as promote and incentivise visitation from both local and tourism communities.

It’s never been a more exciting time to be part of a precinct team such as Sydney Road Brunswick, as they continue to support their stakeholders and community – with a host of creative outcomes such as:

In addition to the above, the Association also delivers several more ad hoc initiatives that may also form part of the deliverables by the successful freelance designer.

Preferred but not required: someone with an in-depth understanding of Sydney Road Brunswick.

The Association is looking for applications from designers who are competent in the following areas, programs, and outcomes:

Abode Creative Suite, primarily:

  • InDesign
  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator

Finished Art:

  • Reviewing and preparing designed assets for both print production (largescale and varying brochure formats) and digital publishing (social media and other online formats).

Creative Outcomes:

  • As a Designer, the Association will expect that you are able to create outcomes that are fitting to the brief, which may request deliverables in varying production and design formats.

As a freelance designer, the Association expects the following from applying candidates:

  • To have access to, and use your own, design software licenses (all design must be completed in Adobe Creative Suite)
  • To have an appropriate computer system and supporting infrastructure
  • To be able to work remotely and when necessary, within our office located on Sydney Road Brunswick (Melbourne, Australia).
  • To have the skill and competencies required to deliver on the projects, as they have been requested.
  • To be able to deliver drafts and finished art within the required timelines, which would be briefed within a reasonable timeframe.
  • To be able to work within standard businesses hours (9.30am to 5.00pm), potentially also outside of those hours when required.
  • To be able to deliver correct finished art, which would be proofed with assets and links checked, and output requirements confirmed.

In designing and delivery works for the Association, it would be expected that:

  • All designs and outcomes are original.
  • Assets and outcomes are not in breach of any copyrights or royalty obligations.
  • All designs are in response to our briefs/conversations.
  • All finished items are packaged up and provided to the Association to file.
  • An expected budget of hours is outlined and if it’s expected to be exceeded, prior notice is provided to the Association so approval can be provided.
