In partnership with the Brunswick Community History Group, the Sydney Road Brunswick Association (SRBA) will host its first ever Sydney Road Brunswick history tour, walking from Brunswick Road to Glenylon Road and focusing on key points of historical significance and progression for the Sydney Road Brunswick precinct.

Lead by local historian Elisabeth Jackson from the Brunswick Community History Group, groups will be lead on a leisurely walk along Sydney Road Brunswick, with 7 locations of interest for a deep dive into the history, which is more than just the bricks and mortar!

Stops on the walking tour include:

1. Sarah Sands Hotel
2. Cable Tram Engine House
3. Barkly Square Shopping Centre
4. The Brunswick Club
5. Brunswick Town Hall & Municipal Offices
6. Brunswick Mechanics Institute
7. Empire Theatre

At the conclusion of the Sydney Road Brunswick history tour, attendees can enjoy a complimentary coffee at Pogo – providing an opportunity to have a casual chat with Elisabeth and take in the historical significance of it all.
