FRIDAY 30th NOVEMBER – Music of Brazil with Dany Maia –

Direct from Salvador de Bahia, in Brazil, Dany Maia brings the authentic sounds of Brazilian music to Australian audiences.
A reflection of the cultural melting-pot in which Dany was born and raised, her music merges the classic Bossa Nova, Jazz and Samba tunes from Bahia and Rio de Janeiro. The concert will showcase a broad selection of Brazilian music ranging from more traditional forms to Bossa Nova. Dany Maia Quintet will present songs by Tom Jobim, Stan Getz, Joao Gilberto and Cartola, composer and poet considered to be a major figure in the development of samba. Dany Maia embodies the true spirit of Brazil.
