For four Fridays in December Sparta Place celebrates summer.  Showcasing its diversity of goods with a feast of fine music, wine and food. Featuring Melbourne jazz performers Michelle Nicolle, Julie O’Hara, Gianni Marinucci and Nilusha Dassenaike. Who will be joined by the Jon Delaney Trio.

About Nilusha Dassenaike

distinctive vocal style that incorporates a delicate balance between her eastern and western musical influences.These elements can be heard through her original solo recording projects such as “The Lotus Verses” and “Things She Said” as well as through the compositional collectives she is co-directs such as QoQo8, Alex & Nilusha, Wintersweet Vocal Ensemble. In 2015 she was awarded the ‘PremioInternacional’ at the XIX Cubadisco National Music Awards in Havana, Cuba.

Jon Delaney Trio

Members: Jon Delaney Guitar, Tom Lee Bass, Ronny Ferella Drums

Melbourne guitarist Jon Delaney is equally impressive playing in the Gypsy jazz style made famous by Django Reinhardt or as a crackerjack jazz player performing with some the finest performers in the country. For the Sparta Lane Summer Nights series Jon and his trio will be backing four of Melbourne’s most eclectic jazz artists, with music ranging from Gypsy Jazz, Bossa Nova, Afro Cuban, The Great American Song Book and music from the screen.
