Did you know that in some Middle Eastern weddings, there are elaborate gold-plated carts carrying exquisitely-designed bottles of varying shapes, which are wheeled around for the guests to enjoy during the nuptial celebrations?

Burhan Tatai, a professional chef and director of Asas Perfumes Australia owns one of these elaborately designed carts and displays it on his shopfront window. He leases this unique and beautiful cart to locals who want to provide an unforgettable experience for their guests during special occasions such as weddings. Asas Perfume fragrances, oils, incenses and accessories originate from places such as the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, and other parts of the world.

Fragrances such as black musk, white musk, Cambodian oudh (which comes from a tree bark which only grows in certain parts of the middle east and Africa), frankincense, amber, Arabian jasmine, sandalwood, romancia and kashka transport one’s senses to the scents’ exotic places of origin. Asas Perfumes has more than forty-five different large, stained-glass bottles housing each individual fragrance and numerous small 3mL and 6mL fancy-shaped metal containers called toolas wherein one can transfer perfumes or oils for use outside the home. There are also roll-on perfumes and pocket-sized sprays.

For those who love to entertain at home, there are gold and silver-plated round “tablet” incenses which match the different colours of burners and tongs available. These normally burn up for up to forty minutes at a time and are potent enough to mask cooking, pet-related or any other odours in the home, business or office. They are handy when having guests around or to simply create a fragrant sanctuary for a more relaxing ambiance. Apart from traditional incense burners, there are also electronic burners and even portable car incense burners for those who want to make their car smell better for a longer time than the standard fragrances usually hung in the front-view mirror.
